Halloween in March

My son loves halloween. Even though it’s really Easter on the horizon, I have been subjected to reading “Boo” by Robert Munch for nights on end. He even managed to dig up the halloween spider that we usually stick to a mirror during the actual halloween season. It is now on our living room window surrounded by the snowflake stickers that I didn’t take down after Christmas.

Halloween is such a great event, or should I call it a holiday? You can decorate like crazy, no good taste required. You can eat junk food and get free junk food from all of your neighbours. You can dress up as silly, crazy, scary, or absurdly as you wish. Plus, there’s no expectation to attend countless tedious extended family events or religious services (unless you’re wicken – do wicken’s have religious services?) What’s not to love!

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

  1. I totally spelled wiccan wrong… how did that happen? It’s like I’m talking about wicker people or something. See, children do kill brain cells!
