Resumes for Children? WTF

Holy shit! I just found this website on a book called “Resumes for Children.”

Resumes for Children

I totally thought it was going to be about getting your children to start earning money and paying for their own crap. Which I can completely get behind. Really, they just suck the life and money out of you for a good 18 or more years. Getting a job would teach them valuable life lessons and help ensure that you don’t have to wait until you’re 90 before you can afford to retire.

Then I actually read the description. It’s pretty much about making sure your child has good self esteem and can go back and review all of their accomplishments. You know, like colouring good, sharing with your sister, and passing some spelling test in grade 3 (they don’t fail kids anymore in grade 3).  How is that supposed to teach them any of life’s hard lessons.

1. Not everyone will like you.
2. You aren’t as smart as you think you are.
3. Nobody owes you anything.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home.

OMG. You have got to be kidding me. No wonder our society is turning into such a bunch of weiners. I’ve never understood how constant, meaningless praise is supposed to build good self esteem. Those kids are in for a bad surprise when they get into the real world.
