What are those lumpy things? Monday Quotes #20

“Mommy, what are those lumpy things?” 4-year-old boy, poking me in the chest.

What is it with kids and boobs? My kids are fascinated with them. It’s a bit discomfiting. I never expected to have to repeat over and over again, “don’t play with other people’s boobs,” and “please leave mommy’s boobs alone.”

I also never expected to hear, “Mommy your boobs are soooooo big!” Partly because who thinks their pre-school son will say that sort of thing, but mostly because they really aren’t sooooo big.

Really?! I thought that when I stopped breast-feeding they’d leave the darn things alone!

**Please note that just because the discussions about boobs have ramped up, there has been no decrease in discussions about penises.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

  1. rossmurray1 says:

If you replaced the word “kids” in that second paragraph with “men,” this piece would still work.

  2. well..ho about this>>> my preschooler randomly stuck his head between my legs at preschool the other day and then made a point of waving his hand in front of his face in a ‘ pwawww that stinks’ gesture! … I have eight kids and still I was MORTIFIED! I went home worrying about whether i was smellier than normal people…. what did everyone else think… oh it was an awful moment… ahhh children gotta love them…
