On the 8th Day of Halloween…

Okay, so 1 vampire has gone missing. I’m sure he’ll be back in time to bite someone for Halloween.

On the eighth day of Halloween, my true love gave to me…

  • 8 Vampires biting;
  • 7 Dancing Skeletons;
  • 6 Smoking Cauldrons;
  • 5 Gravestones;
  • 4 Shrieking bats;
  • 3 Black Cats;
  • 2 Angry Spiders; and
  • A pumpkin in a  pear tree.

I keep hearing that the Twilight series has popularized Vampires, but that just isn’t true – I haven’t even gotten around to seeing or reading the Twilight series. People should not forget about Buffy, Blade, Underworld or Interview with a Vampire, never mind all of the other classics that went before.

My next vampire movie is going to be Dark Shadows. Who can resist the ever fabulous pairing of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp?

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home.

  1. I would gladly watch Johnny Depp read the Sunday paper. He would have me arrested for stalking, but mmmmmmm he’s nice to look at.

  2. Dark Shadows is great! Very funny, and with lots of Johnny Depp, how can you go wrong?

    Resist the Twilight series. Join me in being one of the few females who could care less! A better vampire story is the SyFy series “Being Human” (not the British version)! If you like your vampires with shirts, that is.

  3. Yep, anything with Johnny is good in my books really. Perhaps we’ve finally found a movie worth going to!? Bram Stoker’s Dracula should not be forgotten either… A sinister, creepy classic for sure!

  4. Wasn’t impressed with Dark Shadows very much. Recently read Dracula… it is a great book. (I also wrote my own vampire book, entitled “Drasmyr,” which is sort of Dracula-esque type vampire in a Middle Earth type world).

  5. Country Girl says:

    Yesss…can’t wait to see that one! May I suggest renting it when family is visiting over the Christmas holidays?

    Also – regarding the twilight series – best comparison I’ve come across yet is: Twilight: One girl and her choice between bestiality and necrophilia. Oh, and definitely agree with the ‘Being Human’ series (US version) love it! If you like your vampires without shirts, ‘True Blood’ is a good series, albeit a bit, um…hot at times.
