Free at Last!

The house is silent, no one is whining or begging for food, TV, or bubbles. Yes, today is brought to you by the number 0, for zero children at home, by the letter D, for the daycare where they are instead, and sponsored by Starbucks, with my thanks for coming up with the Blonde blend so that I can stop asking them to add hot water to my grande medium roast.

I’m giddy with the freedom of being left alone to do some writing and editing that is long overdue.

Until tomorrow, when the weekend starts and we’re all in the house again. I enjoy doing fun stuff with the family on weekends, but I gotta be honest with all of you; I really love going back to the office on Monday mornings.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

I hear ya. My office away from home and kids is my place of peace and tranquility, even if some of the people I work with are like children sometimes.

Glad they are better! Enjoy the quiet, the office and your Starbucks 🙂

  3. I know how you feel – a few snatched moments of peace are a beautiful thing, especially when you know that it’s only for a short while.
