Going Unplugged

We’re leaving the island for the weekend to visit family and I keep forgetting that we’re not actually leaving the country. I’ve made mental notes about passports and items not to bring across the border. Completely unnecessary mental notes. I hate wasting mental power, it’s a limited resource and becoming more scarce every day.

After a week of very screen intensive work in the office, my eyes have permanent dual screen image imprints. I think it has also contributed to my senseless mental note-taking. Therefore, I am also going unplugged for the weekend; not totally unplugged, just laptop-less. I’m pretty sure I’ll watch some television though. From the other side of the room. I think they have television on the mainland. It’s been awhile since we’ve left the island.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

Funny how our brains are one big sticky note nightmare. Love how you sound like you are visiting another planet – the mainland :). Have a great trip!
