The other climate change

Not to date myself, but I remember back when the big discussion was all about greenhouse gasses and the growing hole in the ozone layer. Nobody mentions that one anymore. Then it was global warming and now it’s climate change. I’ve probably missed a few in between those.

Now I’m not here to get into a debate about the validity of research on either side of the climate change issue. I’m more concerned about the other climate change. There is another average temperature that seems to have increased.

After enduring countless fevers over the past few months, I have concluded that the average body temperature in children has increased. 99 is the new 98. While this may be alarming to some, I see it as wonderful news. This means that 100 is not really much of a fever. It means that my kids aren’t really getting sick, they’re just experiencing internal climate change.

What a relief!

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.
