I’m Watching You

This morning on the way to dropping my kids off at daycare, I saw something awful. I was second in line in the left turn lane at a red light, when the car in front of me made the turn; while the light was still red; and nearly clipped a pedestrian.

I amused myself the rest of the way to work by thinking about what I would do if I found that car parked in my parking lot at work. I mentally composed a note.

I saw you run a red light this morning at the corner of Cook and Bay. That was very naughty. From now on, I’ll be watching you. Someone will always be watching you.

I got to work, looked around and did not see the car. I felt oddly disappointed. I was kind of looking forward to making a complete stranger paranoid.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

  1. One of the few joys of being a police officer is that I could have gotten their plate number and sent them a nasty letter and possibly a ticket. I’ve never done that in 15 years (taken a plate off duty and mailed a ticket that is) but it’s nice to have the option!

We have a local twitter handle that takes pics of bad drivers and publishes them. Not while actually driving of course. The iPhone and passenger seat is a beautiful thing!
