Why I’m Wearing 1 Sock

I have taken to wearing a single sock around the house lately. Ask me why.

You: Why are you wearing 1 sock?

Me: Because I am getting old.

Yes folks, I wear one sock because I am getting old. I did not forget to put on my other sock, I have not lost my other sock, I did not start taking my socks off and get distracted halfway through the job (although that has happened).

I love to wander around the house barefoot. But I am aging and so is my skin. About a month into the barefoot season, the skin under the big toe on my right foot begins to crack. It cracks and if I am so foolish as to continue my barefoot ways, it bleeds.

Did you know that band aids do not stay on a big toe for more than an hour when you are not wearing socks?

Which is why I look like a crazy old lady, wandering in and out of my house with one sock on and one sock off. Someone needs to knit me a sock, just for my toe. That would make everything better and I could feel young again.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home.

  1. Well… as long as it keeps your foot healthy, then it’s okay that you look.. uh… silly, yeah, let’s go with silly!

Just say you have wooden floor boards and you like to live life on the edge by sliding down the hall on one foot. I mean, sliding on floors in your socks is totally normal, right? 🙂

I think you need a foot warmer!

In other news, I cannot STAND to be barefoot. I feel like all the veins in my feet are wiggling around. I have a lot of odd…issues. : P
