Parenthood is not all pain and agony, even though one might think so to hear me talk about it with the uninitiated! In fact, there are things that my kids do every day that make me smile, chuckle, and occasionally giggle.
When the girl calls her booster seat her “mooster” seat.
When the girl says “bagina” instead of vagina.
When the boy chases the girl around the house to give her a “huggie” and she runs away and then hits him when cornered. (Not that I approve of hitting generally, but the kid does know how to defend herself. I’m okay with that.)
When the kids strip off their clothes in less than 5 seconds flat after hearing that they can swim naked in the pool.
The boy’s dance moves. He’s a funky one.
How indescribably filthy they get playing at daycare. I’m simultaneously repulsed and fascinated by it.
How excited the boy gets about wearing nail polish.
When they use the word “actually” in the middle of their sentences.
How the boy does silly things to stop his little sister from crying and make her start laughing instead.
How the boy makes up songs about how he loves his sister more than pineapples.
