How early is too early?

My little girl had the mother of all meltdowns this morning. It got me thinking. How early is too early to start drinking if you’re not an alcoholic? Should the earliness be defined by the time on a clock or by the number of hours you’ve been up?

I decided not to have a drink because that would have prevented me from driving little miss diva to daycare to be someone else’s problem for the day.

Of course, by the time we left the house she had reverted back to little miss sunshine and unicorns, farting rainbows and fairy dust all over the world. Which meant I had no visible evidence to excuse the spastic twitch developed during the aforementioned meltdown.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

  1. Time is just a number. You drink when you want/need to, ma’am!

Without some sort of self control, I’d be having my cereal with wine!
