It’s a very early Christmas

We did our little family Christmas early this year… this morning in fact. That’s because we’re headed out of town on the 24th and see no reason to haul wrapped presents along on a trip and then have to haul them right back home. It felt kind of fun, like we were breaking some sort of school rules by opening our gifts ahead of time, and getting away with it because who’s going to stop us!

We (grown ups) also had a lovely glass of eggnog with cinnamon flavoured whiskey in it. I seriously recommend booze to go with your Christmas morning. Delicious and a lovely bit of relaxation with ice in it in the middle of holiday chaos.

Also, if you ever decide to get your 5yo a Transformer, you’ll need the extra shot of holiday spirits to help you keep calm while trying to decode the damn directions. In what universe is this a toy for a 5 year old?!

Anyhow, since it’s after lunch, I think I’m allowed another nog and whiskey… right?

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, festive solstice etc etc to all, and to all a good night!

Ho ho ho.

P.S. Is it just me or is it wildly inappropriate for Santa to be giving Dora a Ho Ho Hug?

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.

I think my husband may need a beer to go with activity table assembly. I know I needed one with the Ikea furniture. 😉
