What I really did for the birthday party

After all my bitching and complaining about the crazy stuff people do for birthday parties, I did way more work than I normally condone for my son’s party. I made little tiny, Pinterest-worthy, light sabres for party gifts. To balance that out, I did not make goody bags. I made cupcakes and decorated them. Then again, I used a mix and the icing that came with the mix, because 6 year olds don’t give a damn whether or not your icing is made from real cream cheese or just sugar, water and a few drops of vanilla.

Now I can sit back and relax, knowing that I don’t have to worry about planning another damn birthday party for the next 10 months!

Check out my hand crafted light sabre!

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.
