Rock, Paper, Scissors

Yesterday, while driving back from a weekend visit with the in-laws, the boy (6) convinced his little sister (4) to play rock, paper, scissors with him. He has a hard time getting his sister to play games with him because she’s not all that keen on having her big brother tell her what to do or losing to him all the time.

Boy: Do you want to play rock, paper, scissors with me?

Girl: Crazy coconuts!

Boy: Let’s play rock, paper, scissors.

Girl: (Giggles)

Boy: This is the rock, this is the paper, and this is the scissors. I’ll be rock.

Girl: (More giggling)

Boy: You be scissors, okay? Go like this!

Girl: Like this?

Boy: I win! Now I’ll be paper and you be the rock.

Girl: Okay.

Boy: I win! Do you want to play some more?

The grownups in the front of the van were highly amused. Needless to say, the game didn’t last very long. Can’t say I blame the little girl, even she could tell that the game was rigged.

About dirtyrottenparenting

I'm a parent of two lovely (most of the time) children. I work full time out of the home and I don't cook well, bake, sew, or do crafty things. I keep my high heels and jewelry at my office because there's no point in having them at home. I love Mondays because I can return to the world of adults, go to the bathroom alone and have nearly uninterrupted conversations with others.
